Do you miss the simplicity of the toothbrushes from your childhood. It used to be super easy to buy a toothbrush. You just picked one up at the local store, took it home and brushed your teeth. You didn't spend fifteen minutes staring at hundreds of different styles wondering which one is right for you, you just picked your favorite color and got on with your day. They felt completely different too. It is getting increasingly harder to find just a "Plain-Old Toothbrush" nowadays, they are rapidly being replaced my fancier, more complicated, and unnecessarily expensive brushes.
I was able to try out these old fashioned toothbrushes and I tell you, it was like a trip down memory lane. They have their own special feel to them that I remember from my childhood and they don't feel like they are overcrowding my mouth. I love that I can now pass on that tactile memory to my children who have never experienced a toothbrush like this before. These brushes come in Adult or Children's sizes. The Adult brushes come in Hard, Soft and Extra-Soft while the Children's brushes come in Extra-Soft. There is also a sample pack available so that you can try them all and decide which one you like best.
If you have been searching for a toothbrush like you used to have, look no further! These are designed to be just that. They are also perfect for care packages and go great in the toiletry bags I put together for guests. They are even available in bulk if you decide that you want to do a lot of care packages (Very popular around the Holidays)

Have you wondered where to get a basic toothbrush lately? It seems that most physical and online stores are only supplying the modern “improved,” “ergonomic” multi-level toothbrushes. However, we are not convinced that those styles are an improvement at all! In fact, we feel that the old-fashioned, flat head, vintage, plain toothbrush style is much better at cleaning your teeth than any other “improved” model.

Plain Toothbrushes are in Stock

We have 47-tuft Adult – X-Soft, Soft and Hard versions. We have the 24-tuft Kids versions.
  • No crazy “ergonomic” handles
  • No multi-color bristles
  • No varying-length bristles
  • No bent heads
  • No rubberized handles

Does the “New” Style of Toothbrush Actually Improve Cleaning Capability?

We think NOT! It is evident that the intention of the modern toothbrush shape is to “hug” the tooth and to even “get inside the cracks” between teeth. But this would be true only on certain teeth along the vertical surface. However, when you brush the top or bottom of the teeth, there will be a gap. And when you brush the backside of the teeth, where there is a reverse arch, there would be even MORE of a gap. This is absolutely illogical – to create a brush that is optimized for only one part of the mouth but actually does a worse job on the rest of the mouth.
So let’s say you attempt to brush your teeth with a modern multilevel brush along a straight section of your teeth like the tops or sides of your molars. This means that some parts get no coverage at all, and others, like sensitive gum tissue, receive more of the pressure than they should. So using a multilevel toothbrush could actually be harmful! If just a few of the bristles are longer than the rest, you will irritate your gums and cause gum erosion.

If it Ain’t Broke, Don’t fix it

The benefit of an old-fashioned flat-style toothbrush is that it works well against all straight AND curved surfaces in your mouth. With a little natural angle adjustment, all of your teeth will receive even coverage.

What is Propionate?

All of our toothbrush handles are made of Propionate. Cellulose Acetate Propionate (CAP) is a type of plastic made from wood pulp cellulose. It is strong, non-brittle, shiny and translucent, making it a perfect material for toothbrush handles and eyeglass frames.

Plain Toothbrush Dimensions

The adult and the kid’s brushes have flat, straight handles. The length of the adult size is 7 inches. The length of the kids size is 6 1/4 inches. If you are wondering if they will fit through the old-fashioned toothbrush holders that you might have mounted to your bathroom wall… YES THEY WILL FIT! (That’s because they have the old-fashioned skinny handles.) See below for the dimensions of the bristles themselves. These dimensions reflect the width and height of the bristle AREA, not the head itself, which is slightly larger than the bristle area.
Note that the adult bristle layout has 11 rows of 4 and a top row of 3, which allows for a slight taper. The kid’s bristle layout has 8 rows of 3, with the top row bent into a slight arrow shape.

These are NOT flimsy “disposable” style toothbrushes. They are quality toothbrushes with a solid handle like you grew up with. All the bristles are at the same level for the most even cleaning capability. Compare to the older style Butler®, GUM® and Colgate® brands. Available in Soft, X-Soft, Hard and Kids versions (see below.) We also have sample packs for sale if you are not sure which one to get.
All toothbrushes are INDIVIDUALLY-WRAPPED in cellophane for maximum sterility.
